I think you better use the word instead of symbol, but depends on the subject, if you are writing mathematics, it's not a problem whatever you use. If it's English then definitely use the word,

The English examiner doesnt feel likely to read a symbol over there, but it's okay if not seen, though it might be a chance for losing marks

Getting above 95 in a language subject is a really tough and its mostly depended on your luck too.But few things you can work on are:
1) Be more presentable when you write answers,your handwriting should be legible and try to include space between your words.
2)Use proper headings and always draw a line after finishing the answer.
3)Stick to the word limit,structure your thoughts well and write to the point.
4)Take 30 seconds to think before you start writing your answer,to structure the main points.Try to write in paragraphs.Each paragraph shouldn't exceed more than 8-10 lines .
5)Practice regularly from books like BBC and Together with.I personally preferred BBC and English Plus , the later had simpler language and former was enough for advanced English .

It isn't true

You can move your heads of course (even if you are asking in context of cheating).

But, if you know all the answers, you may not get the time to move your heads and you won't need to move your heads if you go well prepared because board exams are easy. Go well prepared and with a cool mind and you'll rock for sure.

No according to the latest CBSE Board rules and regulations using whitner as well as black pen is strictly prohibited..So when shouldnt use it.one could draw a line after ending every question.

Students appearing for CBSE Board Exam can write answers with a Blue colored pen. If they want to use a black pen to highlight or bold the points in answers or for writing titles or headlines then it is allowed.

It would be better if u use black ink in majority….you rather use blue ink to write questions and black ink to write answers provided your answers are relatively longer…but remember to maintain the order….

NOTE dont use coloured pens!!!!!!
